Three Organizations Team Up to Save The Snakes in South India

Save The Snakes Founding Partner, the Eastern Ghats Wildlife Society, recently conducted an interactive program about snake conservation and the global snakebite crisis at the Indira Gandhi Zoological Park in Visakhapatnam. The event was jointly organized by the Andhra Pradesh Forest Department and the Madras Crocodile Bank. The event was honored to have legendary Rom Whitaker as the Chief Guest! Participants learned about snake ecology, species identification, snake conservation, snakebite treatment, and how to live in harmony with snakes.

The program had an overwhelming response from more than 200 school children and frontline Andhra Pradesh Forest Department staff. The event was reported by local news media, including The Hans India and The Hindu.
