Amy Brumbaugh was born and raised in California, where frequent family trips to Lake Berryessa sparked a lifelong passion for snakes, particularly rattlesnakes.

Her venomous herpetology background was built during a decade-long zookeeping career in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she learned specialized snake husbandry under a dedicated mentor and managed the facility’s reptile collection. Driven by a desire to challenge negative public perceptions surrounding snakes, she joined Save The Snakes to align her values with hands-on conservation.

As Operations and Outreach Manager, Amy oversees day-to-day operations at the Snake Conservation Center while actively engaging the public through school programs and community outreach events. Dedicated to the safety of both humans and wildlife, she empowers individuals of all backgrounds to appreciate, respect, and peacefully coexist with snakes.
