Spring is here… are you ready for snake season?

Ready for spring? The snakes are, too! Warmer weather is around the corner for many of us in the Northern Hemisphere, so snakes will soon become more active. So, here are a few tips to keep your home safe for snakes this spring:

πŸͺ΄ Keep your yard tidy and the snakes won’t stay around your house.

πŸ—‘οΈ Do you have boards, debris or trash lying around the yard? Clean it up! A board on the ground is a perfect hangout spot for a snake.

🌱 Keep your grass low and control thick vegetation around your home.

🐁 Rodent proof your home, but never use poison/glue traps to do so. Snakes will search for food where there is prey.

🏑 Examine your home, see a place a snake could get into? Close it up!

⚠️ Never use plastic netting (for sod/keeping birds away) – they can trap & hurt snakes!

🐍 Welcome non-venomous snakes to your yard – excellent rodent control!

πŸ‘©β€πŸŒΎ Snakes are shy and prefer to not be bothered. If you maintain an active presence around your home, you will scare most snakes away.

Ready to coexist with snakes? It’s easy!
