We’re still buzzing with excitement from our fourth annual Sacramento Snake Festival, held on May 10th! It was a truly fantastic celebration of snakes and the natural world, and we wanted to share the highlights with you, our incredible community.
Hundreds of people from all across California joined us for this free, family-friendly event, demonstrating their wonderful support for Save The Snakes’ local and global conservation efforts and our amazing snake neighbors. The day was filled with smiles, scales, and a whole lot of learning!

Here’s a glimpse at the impact we made together:
- ~400 enthusiastic community members attended SnakeFest!
- An incredible ~$8,750 was raised to support Save The Snakes’ global snake conservation initiatives.
- Tens of thousands more learned about the event through social media and local news coverage on Good Day Sacramento and Fox 40’s Studio Live!
Attendees had the chance to learn fascinating facts about snakes from California and around the globe, discover practical ways to coexist peacefully with these often-misunderstood creatures, and for some, even overcome their fears!

SnakeFest wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of our amazing Save The Snakes volunteers and our fantastic snake-friendly exhibitors: Sacramento Splash, Miridae Mobile Nursery, Stone Pine Studios, United States Geological Survey’s Giant Gartersnake Team, UC Davis Todd Lab – Herpetology & Wildlife Conservation, Sacramento-Yolo Mosquito & Vector Control District, and Prairie City Vehicular Recreation Area Nature Interpretation. Thank you all for sharing your passion and expertise!

A special thank you goes out to Senator Roger Niello for showing support for our State Snake campaign and for recognizing our dedicated team of volunteers. We also appreciate Hedgerow Farms for generously donating the use of their canopies and Namaste Foods for keeping everyone energized with delicious food and drinks!

We also extend our deepest gratitude to our generous sponsors: Snake Fencing, Rattlesnake Proof Fencing Solutions, Pets To Go, and by the Measure H Community Enhancement & Investment Fund from the City of Rancho Cordova. Your support made this incredible day possible!

We are already looking forward and planning next year’s even bigger and better snake celebration! If you enjoyed SnakeFest, please consider volunteering your time or making a donation to help us grow this spectacular event and further our conservation work.
